About WNZR

Our Mission:

WNZR Radio exists to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, provide listeners with excellence in programming, build trusted relationships in the community, and advance the mission of Mount Vernon Nazarene University- shaping lives through educating the whole person and cultivating Christ-likeness for lifelong learning and service.

Our Vision:

WNZR Radio seeks to continually grow the body of Christ while developing skilled, service-minded student broadcasters. We desire to encourage listeners toward a deeper relationship with Christ through a consistent and clear testimony; always seeking new opportunities to reach our community.

WNZR and MVNU alumni are working across the country and the world in broadcasting and its related fields. The amount of hands-on, real-world experience you will get in announcing, production, and promotions in our program is unparalleled. Students are immersed in every aspect of the broadcasting field. At the same time, you will be involved in a ministry that is an active part of Knox County. For more information, or to schedule a campus visit, please contact Mount Vernon Nazarene University's office of admissions.

WNZR is a station with a heart for the community. Through fundraisers such as Food for the Hungry, Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society, and community events like the Knox County Fair, the Dan Emmett Music and Arts Festival, and the Fredericktown Tomato Show, and The Care Net Pregnancy Services Walk for Life, WNZR strives to be an active part of the effort to make our community a better place to live.

WNZR is a group of people who love Jesus Christ, and want to know Him more. As a body of believers, we feel that WNZR is not just a radio station, it is a ministry. We take this calling seriously, and strive to live our lives as we feel Jesus would.

Our Theme Verse: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, he will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
