A Series by Kyle Idleman

We’ve all experienced failures, bitterness, or setbacks. We carry unseen burdens that rob us of joy, keep us from praying, and even cause us to doubt God.

Bestselling author and pastor Kyle Idleman wants to remind us that God’s grace is greater. Even when it doesn’t make sense. Even when it doesn’t feel fair. God’s grace covers everything we’ve done. And the best way (perhaps the only real way) to understand it, is to experience it.

Tell us why you love your pastor. Fill out the form below.

Dennis Eggerton of Grace Brethren Church of Danville.

Comments about Dennis - Pastor Dennis is always there to share God's words and help you walk through any struggle that you might be facing. Dennis never gives up on anyone and is always there when you need him. He is always a text away. Even during Sunday services as Pastor shares God's word, he is not afraid to share about his own struggles in life. Many times his passion of God's word has shown itself to his small flock. He is loved by all of us who call him Pastor Dennis.

Marvin Haught of Brandon Baptist Church.

Comments about Marvin – He’s been pastoring at Brandon Baptist Church since June of 2000 which makes him the longest term pastor we’ve ever had. He’s a great bible teacher and preacher. He will do just about anything to care for people. He handles transportation, funerals, and much much more. He’s awesome!

Richard Hite of The Church on The Rise in Mount Vernon.

Comments about Richard – He is such a good preacher and preaches so that we can all understand the messages clearly. He is loving and caring to all and a very hard worker. He is a wonderful example to his congregation and he lives what he preaches. His children love and respect him, which is a sign of a man of honor. He goes out of his way to help people and heads up a very large food pantry ministry which reaches several counties. He never complains but keeps working as the Lord gives him strength. He is very loved by his church family.

Tom Duncan of New Life Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon.

Comments about Tom – Pastor Tom is a pastor who handles multiple tasks with a passion to say the least. Nothing gets past him without action to resolve. He is dedicated to saving the lives of many people, very open to communication as well as rounding up groups to help others out when the need arises. We love Pastor Tom and we know part of our church growth is due to his commitment to Jesus Christ!

Tim Mohon of Fredericktown First Baptist Church.

Comments about Tim – It is great how God brought Pastor Tim to our church in a time when we needed guidance for direction. I love his focus on scripture when he is preaching. He makes everyone in the church feel welcome, young or old! We thank Tim for all that he does!

Richard Hasley (pronounced haze-lee) of Fredericktown United Methodist Church.

Comments about Richard - Pastor Hasley (pronounced haze-lee) and his beautiful wife Janice came to our church with arms and hearts wide open. His gift of ministry is powerful and resonates with our congregation. There's never an idea Pastor is unwilling to hear or a suggestion he isn't willing to entertain. So many in our congregation are growing in their walks with Christ due to the guidance he provides. His wife, Janice, is a warrior for Christ, eager to pray for and with members of the congregation. Pastor Hasley and Janice continue to provide an atmosphere that cultivates love and acceptance. Pastor Hasley knows the word of God and preaches it in a way that is clear and powerful. He is also one of the kindest most compassionate people. He truly loves his congregation and spends hours in visitation with the elderly and the sick. He loves the kids and can often be found at youth group, in the middle of a good game of dodge ball, or just talking with a college or high school student who needs guidance. Our church is truly blessed to have Richard and Janice Hasley!

Rodger Conley of Crossway Fellowship in Newark.

Comments about Rodger – He is the rock that I lean on when I need it. He is a great man of God.

Tim Overly of Covenant Church in Mount Vernon.

Comments about Tim – Pastor Tim is very helpful to everyone at our church. He is willing to walk with his church members through very difficult situations, even standing by their side when they have to face the death of a loved one. Pastor Tim is consistently reaching out to his congregation – through visits or prayers over the phone and encouraging messages every week. He and his family are truly servants of the Lord.

Dan Whisner of the Church at Chapel Hill in Mount Vernon.

Comments about Dan – Grace nominated Pastor Whisner and says, “He is my Grandpa and my Pastor. I love him!  He is a great example.”

Mark Wildermuth of Faith Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon.

Comments about Mark – Pastor Mark has given his whole heart to the whole congregation and even during rough times in his life, he has focused on Gods spirit and helping others find Him! He loves to share the power of God with everyone he can, everywhere he goes! He always preaches from the Word, loves his congregation, and in turn the congregation has become family. His love for the Lord is shown through everything he does.

Bill Barton of First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon.

Comments about Bill - Pastor Bill teaches and preaches from the Bible. His sermons inspire and challenge us every Sunday to step out of our comfort zone and share Jesus with others. He is very easy to talk with and has a great sense of humor. We are glad he is our pastor!

L.J. Harry of Apostolic Christian Church in Mount Vernon.

Comments about L.J. – It has been our honor to watch L.J. grow up, maturing both physically and spiritually. L.J. has allowed our Bishop to mentor him for several years in the ways of pastoring and has become a marvelous minister that can speak to all age groups. He has a beautiful family that he cares for diligently and that aids him in ministering to our church family.

Paul Dennis of Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon.

Comments about Paul – Our youth pastor, Paul, is great for the youth but also for the adult congregation. He is very personable and he always has a solid message from the Lord to present to us. Our most recent sermon was on us being a community and we had this awesome time of fellowship in addition to the sermon and communion. Lives were changed in church that morning and it's because Pastor Paul delivered such a powerful message! Pastor Paul is willing to help anyone and he will take an hour out of his day just to talk to someone that needs some encouragement. He embodies everything that Jesus asks us to be. Our youth pastor ROCKS!

Scott Reynolds of Howard Christian Church.

Comments about Scott – Pastor Scott and his family have created such an inviting atmosphere at the Howard Christian Church that made me and my family feel so welcomed. The congregation there is so warm and loving. On our first visit there, we knew this was the place for us. Pastor Scott encourages everyone to become disciples of the Lord and not just be church members.

Micah Pelkey of the Bellville Storyside Church.

Comments about Micah – Pastor Micah is a devoted Pastor to his church. He studies and preaches the Word faithfully. He is a man of prayer. He knows he cannot lead and shepherd our church in his own power. He is totally dependent on God. He is always on call. He is there to celebrate our victories and to comfort us in our difficulties. He leads our church with a vision. He is authentic. He bears the burdens of leading many people without complaints or self-pity. He is sacrificial. He is truly passionate about seeing those without Christ become followers of the Savior. He disciples and mentors many. He loves our congregation with a Christ-like love. He does not judge any of his congregation! He is there with love and compassion beside his beautiful wife Angel! We love you Pastor Micah and Angel Pelkey!
